Raven’s Home is an American family sitcom[1] television series developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas and premiered on Disney Channel on July 21, 2017 . Symoné, Issac Ryan Brown, Navia Robinson, Jason Maybaum, Sky Katz and Anneliese van der Pol.

Based on the characters created by Michael Poryes and Susan Sherman, the series is a spin-off of That’s So Raven,[2][3] the second spin-off of this series after Cory in the house. Best friends Raven and Chelsea, both divorced single moms, are now raising their children together in an apartment in Chicago. Their house is turned upside down when they discover that Raven’s son, Booker, has inherited the same psychic abilities as his mother.

On August 14, 2015, Raven-Symoné and her former co-stars were reunited in an appearance on The View. T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh and Rondell Sheran were not present but were mentioned by the cast.[10] A pilot for the series was aired on April 27.Announced by Disney Channel in October 2016,[1] and Raven-Symoné also announced that she would be leaving later in 2016 as co-host of The View to continue working on the series full-time.[11] On November 14, 2016, it was announced that Anneliese van der Pol would reprise her role as Chelsea Daniels on the series as a divorced mother raising a son, Levi, and moving in with Raven. Disney Channel officially greenlit the series, titled Raven’s Home, on April 4, 2017.[12][13] Executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as showrunners and executive writers, with Raven-Symoné also serving on the writing team as executive producer.[14] The series is filmed at Hollywood Center Studios.

Disney Channel renewed the series for a second season on October 10, 2017, with filming beginning in November 2017.[15] Additionally, starting in season two, Michael Feldman and Dava Savel replaced Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas as showrunners. After a tacit renewal, it was announced on November 28, 2018 that Eunetta T. Boone would serve as showrunner and executive producer for season three.[18] On March 21, 2019, it was announced that production of season three had been temporarily halted following the death of Eunetta T. Critical Response

Raven’s Home has received positive reviews. Georgia Davis, writing for The Post, commended the pilot for retaining “the charm and energy” of the original and praised the characterizations of Raven and Chelsea and the performances of the child actors. Davis concluded, “It may be too early to tell, but it appears that Raven’s Home is on the right track to success.”[31] Emily Ashby of Common Sense Media wrote: “That’s So Ravenfans will find much more of what they loved about the original series in this sharply written sitcom, which strikes a surprisingly good balance of the woes of growing up and tweening processes.”[ 32]

She has received multiple awards, including five NAACP Image Awards, two Ks’ Choice Awards, three Young Artist Awards, and three Daytime Emmy Award nominations. In 1989, Raven-Symoné auditioned for a role in the Bill Cosby film Ghost Dad. At three she was too young for the role, but Cosby liked her so much that he found her a role on his show The Cosby Showas his step-daughter Olivia. Raven-Symoné began her singing career in 1992 at the age of seven when she signed with MCA Records. She spent that year and the next taking singing lessons from Missy Elliott. Their debut album Here’s to New Dreamswas released on June 22, 1993 and spawned two singles: “That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of” and “Raven Is the Flavor”. “That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of” peaked at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100.However, the album was unsuccessful and due to poor sales, it was dropped from MCA Records in 1995. The album sold over 2,000 in the US.[45] The album spawned one single: a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “With a Child’s Heart.” In support of the Undeniablealbum, she toured in 1998/1999 as the opening act for fellow Jive artist ‘N Sync”s The ‘N Sync Tour.[46]

In 2003 she recorded the ic Stevie Wonder song “Superstition” as the main theme for the film The Haunted Mansion. She signed to Hollywood Records, a Disney-owned label, a five-track EP with Hollywood Records on January 1, 2004[47][48] with the songs “Backflip”, “Bump”, “Overloved”, “What Is Love? ‘ and ‘Mystify’.[49] Released to promote the full-length album, the EP was only available in select stores and is now very rare. On September 21, 2004, she released her third studio album This Is My Time, which included the single ” Backflip” included. The album’s four songs have been incorporated into Disney film soundtracks: The Lion King 1½ (“Grazing in the Grass”);The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (“Das is my time”);Ice Princess (“Bump”); and Go Figure (“Life is Beautiful”). In the same year she also recorded music for the first original TV soundtrack of That’s So Raven. The soundtrack debuted and peaked at number 44 on the Billboard 200 and has now been certified Gold by the RIAA for selling 500,000 copies.[19]

Following the success of their third album, This Is My Time (2004), Crash Records sold their rights to the material on Undeniable to TMG Records’ collaboration with RayBlaize and on her then-Hollywood Records label, re-released it on October 31, 2006 as From Then Until.[51] The re-release included the music video for “With A Child’s Heart” as well as some behind-the-scenes footage and live performances. The album sold over 8,000 copies in the US.[45] In support of their third studio album and soundtrack That’s So Raven Too!, the second soundtrack album in the series. Raven-Symoné embarked on their first headlining tour. The This Is My Time Tour started on May 19, 2006 in Richmond, VA and ended on October 21, 2006 in Columbia, SC.[52]

Their fourth studio album Raven-Symoné was released on April 29, 2008.[53] The album is produced by Sean Garrett (Beyoncé), The JAM (Leona Lewis), Knightwritaz and The Clutch (Timbaland, Ciara). The only single released was “Double Dutch Bus”, a cover of Frankie Smith’s 1981 Funk track. The single was released to radio on February 9, while the video was released on February 18, 2008. The album debuted at number 159 on the Top 200 by Billboard. To promote the album, she planned to headline her first all-arena tour “The Pajama Party Tour” in spring 2008, but due to what promoters are calling “unforeseen difficulties”, the tour was postponed until further notice. During her 2008 summer tour, it was officially announced that after completing her two-disc deal with Hollywood Records, she would not be renewing her contract with the label *In late 2009, Raven-Symoné announced she was returning to the studio to record her next album record.[55] She said the album will be “R&B, definitely…with an alternative basis for the lyrics”.She says: ‘It’s good to go out there and spread your wings and find new talent and work with people you’ve never worked with before, you know. At the same time I would like to go back to the clutch and the J.A.M. work”.[56]

In January 2011, she told OnTheRedCarpet.com that she was working on her fifth album.[57] Da Beat Kadetz, formerly known as The TriGz, may be working on the project,[58] with Manny Streetz (of Da Beat Kadetz) as executive producer.[59] Raven revealed to Billboardthat she would like to work with Sean Garrett again and that it will be R&B with an “alternative base for lyrics”.[60] In a March 2012 interview with Broadway.com, she confirmed that she had no plans to release a new album, saying that she “couldn’t quite get it together” and that the music she’d been working on “wasn’t run”. to be something sellable.”[61] She added that the album “could come later in life when I can say what I have to say.”[61]

Raven-Symoné was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Lydia (Gaulden) and Christopher Pearman.[8][12] She has a younger brother, Blaize.[8] As a toddler, she worked for the Atlanta modeling agency Young Faces Inc. and was featured in local print ads. By the age of two, she was working at Ford Models in New York City, appearing in ads for the Ritz Cracker, Jell-O, Fisher-Price, and Cool Whip.
