The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released the 135-page final report on Tuesday. Investigators had published heavily redacted reports in the months following the discovery of Marcano’s body.

Marcano was scheduled to leave for Fort Lauderdale that night but she didn’t make the flight, which worried her family and alerted them to contact the police.

Another photo showed a small bookcase leaning against Marcano’s bedroom doorknob, which “apparently was placed there to prevent anyone from entering the room from the outside,” the report said.

Investigators also noticed other things that Marcano unusually left in her apartment, such as jewelry on the floor, a bag that appeared to be the luggage she intended to use for her trip to Fort Lauderdale, and her teddy bear without it she’s not going anywhere.

Detectives also found a pillow next to Marcano’s bed with a small stain of a dried red substance that appeared to be blood.

Key fob data documented in the report shows that her alleged killer, Armando Caballero, used a master key to gain access to Marcano’s apartment just before she returned home from work.

Surveillance video showed Caballero driving a golf cart through the complex near Marcano’s, timed to coincide with the time the key fob was used on her front door.

On September 27, 2021 investigators gave up announced that the person of interest, 27-year-old Armando Manuel Caballero, had been found dead by apparent suicide.

On Saturday, October 2nd, Mina announced at a press conference that a body believed to belong to Miya was found near Tymber Skan’s apartments.

Police said the body was discovered in a wooded area near the building.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased.

On Tuesday October 5th, Dr. Joshua Stephany, chief medical officer for Orange and Osceola counties, revealed that the body found in the wooded area belonged to Miya.

Stephany released a statement on the case, saying: “A positive identification of a woman whose body was recovered in a wooded area on October 2, 2021 was identified as Miya Marcano.

“This case is currently under an active investigation by law enforcement and any additional requests for information, including cause of death and manner of death, will be referred to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.”

The apartments are located 17 miles west of Arden Villas where Miya was last seen.

“This is not the update I wanted to give everyone,” Mina says at the press conference.

“Our hearts are broken. Everyone wanted that result to be different,” he continued.

Alexa Lorenzo, a reporter at WFTV in Orlando, tweeted, “Cell phone data shows that Armando Caballero was in the Tymber Skan Apartments Fray area on September 24th, the day Miya went missing.”

Caballero was present on Fray at the apartment complex for 20 minutes and was found dead of apparent suice on Monday.
