Datig said Elder had required her to show devotion by getting a tattoo of “Larry’s Girl” and pointing a gun at her during an argument while she was “high” on cannabis.[86][87] After Datig’s allegations became public, The Sacramento Bee editors and fellow contestants Kevin Faulconer and Caitlyn Jenner asked Elder to withdraw from the race.[88] Elder has denied Datig’s allegations, calling them “salacious allegations.”[44][89] Elder’s ex-girlfriend Stewart also defended Elder against Datig’s allegations, stating, “That’s not the person I know. I would risk my life for it. Whatever happened between them, it didn’t happen that way.”[85]
In 2011 episodes of his radio show, Elder previously disclosed that he had been accused twice of sexual harassment and denied both allegations. In one instance, Elder defended himself by implying the woman was too unattractive to him to molest her, saying, “If you had seen her, you would know the picture would be a full defense.” I’m just saying.”[ 90]
Political views

Elder’s views are conservative[2][35] and right-wing.[56][57] Elder is a registered Republican;[2][58] in 2021 he stated that he has voted for the Republican nominee in every current election since 1980, having voted for Democrat Jimmy Carter in 1976.[59] Elder describes himself as a “little libertarian” in contrast to a member of the Libertarian Party.[2][58]
He is a fervent supporter of former present Donald Trump and frequently praises him on Twitter.[57][60][61] He was an early supporter of Trump’s 2016 candidacy for the present. Speaking to an audience in 2019 about Trump’s election, Elder said, “It was a miracle. Elder refused to back down and said he didn’t think Ben won the 2020 election fairly.”[48] Elder has argued that it is unfair to blame Trump for the 2021 attack on the United States Capitol.[59] Elder opposed Trump-imposed tariffs and Trump’s decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan.[63]
Some critics and sources have labeled Elder as “far right.”[64] Los Angeles Times columnist Erika D.Smith referred to Elder as “the black face of white supremacy,” a statement Elder dismissed in an interview with Fox News, responding that they were “scared to death” of him.[ 65] The Sacramento Bee noted its affiliation with The Epoch Times, an allegedly far-right newspaper published by the Falun Gong movement.[66]
Economic issues
In his 2000 book The Ten Things You Can’t Say In America, Elder lays out a 10-point plan to “Save America.” He called for the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service, the introduction of a national sales tax, an 80% cut in government taxes, the elimination of benefits and entitlements, the elimination of the minimum wage, and the elimination of corporate taxes.[67]
Elder opposes minimum wage laws, arguing that “the actual minimum wage is $0.00.”[68] He opposes universal basic income.[69] Elder opposes California’s family leave law.[35] In his 2020 film Uncle Tom: An Oral History of the American Black Conservative, Elder criticizes the war on poverty.[70]
In a CNN Crossfiresegment in 2013, Elder along with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie criticized Christie for accepting the “welfare state architecture” and claimed that “The government took nearly 50 percent of that money from the American people” through mandates,[71] a claim he backed up by citing an analysis by conservative advocacy group Americans for Tax Reform.[72] PolitiFact found his claim “largely false “.[72][73]
Elder has been critical of public sector unions, particularly the California Teachers Association.[74] He claims that some 15,000 California teachers are “incompetent”[74] and previously proposed firing thousands of teachers in the state.[59] He later said he preferred more charter schools and private schools instead.[59]
Statements and views about women
In August 2021, Elder was criticized for his long history of making derogatory remarks about women. Elder has claimed that “women know less than men about politics, economics, and current events”; mocked women who took part in the 2017 Women’s March as “obese”; mocked premenstrual syndrome by saying PMS stands for “Punish My Spouse”; endorsed pregnancy discrimination by employers; published an article on its website comparing single mothers on welfare to stray cats; and claimed that statistics on domestic violence against women were exaggerated to promote feminism.[75] Elder has claimed that Democrats are more successful among female voters because they have “emotionally driven but often unsound policies.”[76]
Elder has often denied that there is a gender pay gap.[77][78] Elder argues that employers should be allowed to discriminate against women in employment who want to have children, and in his 2002 book he wrote that women who choose to have children are deprived of their jobs were “dedicated” and suggested that they lacked “commitment”. to work.[79][80] Elder reiterated these views in 2021 while running for governor after fellow Republican Kevin Faulconer criticized Elder’s views.[81]

Science, Environment and COVID-19 Pandemic
During his media career, Elder published and disseminated misinformation and side views on scientific topics such as second-hand smoke, climate change, and COVID-19 treatments.[35]
In a 2000 book, Elder suggested that the health dangers of second-hand smoke were exaggerated and rejected the scientific consensus that second-hand smoke was a serious threat that caused 2.5 million deaths in the half-century prior to 2014 [ 35]
Elder’s website once described climate change as a “myth”; In a 2008 interview, he called climate change “shit,” slammed Republicans like John McCain and George W. Bush who acknowledged climate change, and said global warming was not a “big threat” to planet Earth. [35] In 2021, Elder acknowledged that the climate is warming,[35] but refused to accept the overwhelming scientific consensus that human activities are the main contributor,[59] claiming that concern about climate change is “alarmism.” .[59][35]
In 2021, Elder committed to repeal current state healthcare mandates for government employees in California, such as B. COVID-19 vaccine requirements, face mask requirements, or regular COVID-19 testing.[59][83] Elder encouraged “people in high-risk categories, people who are older” to get vaccinated, but said “young people” do not need to be vaccinated.[83] In 2021, Elder did not challenge a listener to his radio show who was spreading COVID-19 misinformation suggesting that COVID-19 vaccines were dangerous and part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Bill Gates, and a page on Elder’s website promoted the call – in the comments of the audience, saying: “You will want to hear this doctor’s opinion on the vaccines.”[35]
Elder has proposed suspending or waiving the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act, claiming that doing so would speed up housing construction.[74][59][35]
Race Relations
Elder doesn’t believe in systemic racism and calls it a lie. He is a critic of the Black Lives Matter movement, blaming it for rising crime. As part of his criticism of welfare, he stated that it was more harmful to black families than slavery ever was. He has proposed school choice as a solution to poor black children’s performance in school.[84]

A man I’ve known since elementary school changed his name to Arabic years ago. He told me he rejected Christianity as “the white man’s religion that justifies slavery.” He argued that reparations were owed to Africans displaced from that continent. “By whom?” I asked.
Arab slave traders were taking more Africans out of Africa and transporting them to the Middle East and South America than European slave traders were taking out of Africa and bringing to North America. Arab slave traders began bringing slaves from Africa in the 9th century – centuries before the European slave trade – and continued to do so long afterwards.
In Prisons & Slavery, John Dewar Gleissner writes: The Treatment of Black Africans can be aptly described as the African Holocaust. Arabs killed more Africans in transit, especially crossing the Sahara, than Europeans and Americans, and did so for several centuries, both before and after the Atlantean slave trade years, centuries before Christian nations began taking millions of black African slaves d. Arab slave traders exported slaves from Africa for about 13 centuries, compared to three centuries of the Atlantic slave trade. African slaves transported across the Sahara by Arabs died more often than when slaves were made making the Middle Passage to the New World by ship. Slaves invariably died within five years working in the Saharan salt mines of the Ottoman Empire.”

Sowell also wrote: “The West Africa region … was one of the continent’s great slave-trading regions – before, during and after the arrival of the whites. It was the Africans who enslaved their fellow Africans, selling some of those slaves to Europeans or Arabs and keeping others for themselves. Even at the height of the Atlantic slave trade, Africans kept more slaves than they sent to the Western Hemisphere. .. Arabs were the leading slave breeders in East Africa, covering an area larger than all of Europe.”
I asked my friend if his anger at slavery extended to countries like Brazil. “Brazil?” he said.
Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. of the Harvard Department of African and African American Studies – who also happens to be black – wrote: “Between 1525 and 1866, throughout the history of the slave trade According to the Transatlantic Slave Trade Database, 12.5 million Africans were shipped to the New World worldwide. 10.7 million survived the dreaded middle passage and ended up in North America, the Caribbean and South America. And how many of those 10.7 million Africans were shipped directly to North America? Only about 388,000. Right: a tiny percentage. In fact, the overwhelming percentage of African slaves were shipped directly to the Caribbean and South America; Brazil alone took in 4.86 million Africans!”
African tribes capturing other tribes sold them into slavery. For this reason, Ghana offered an official apology in 2006.Emmanuel Hagan, Director of Research and Statistics at Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, explains: “The reason we wanted to do something formal is that, even if it’s only superficial and cosmetic, we want to be seen as that they say ‘sorry’. to those who feel very strongly and who we believe have twisted history because they get the impression that it was people here who just took it and sold it. It’s something we have to look squarely in the face and try to address because it exists. So we’re going to want to say something went wrong. People made mistakes, but we’re sorry for what happened.”
More than 600,000 Americans died in a country with less than 10 percent of today’s population in the Civil War that ended slavery. “While slavery was common to all civilizations,” Sowell writes, “…only one civilization developed a moral aversion to it very late in its history—Western civilization. .. Not even the leading moralists of other civilizations opposed slavery at all.”

DOWNEY – Radio talk show host and nominee for governor of California Larry Elder participated in a citizen’s discussion with local Hispanic Christian leaders Sept. 9 at New Season Church Downey.
Despite numerous polls showing that Elder and the 46 other candidates running in the September 14 California gubernatorial recall election will lose, the conservative talk show Moderator the time to clarify his plans for the state.
Elder’s vision for California is to repeal the mask and vaccination mandate, be a pro-life governor while appointing anti-abortion assemblies and Reducing wildfires through forest management rather than addressing climate change.
Republicans have criticized Newsom’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, arguing he made a mistake by shutting down the state ed as COVID cases and deaths surged in California. They are demanding that Newsom not implement the mask and vaccination mandate, which they see as an attack on their freedom.
“I wouldn’t have shut down the state,” Elder said as the audience cheered. “I would have relied on the common sense of men and women and their parents to decide what should be done.”
Masks were optional during the indoor town hall as the majority of the audience chose to no face covering to wear.
“Newsom says if you work for the state, you must get vaccinated or tested once a week and wear a face mask,” the talk show host said. “Newsom mandated it, so the first thing I’m going to do is lift [the vaccination mandate] when I become governor.”
Elder says he’s vaccinated, but previously said he doesn’t believe the science supports the vaccine .
Earlier this week, Texas passed legislation restricting abortions for pregnancies older than six weeks regardless of rape or incest.
The Republican nominee was also asked about his views on the Women’s Reproductive Rights asked if he would work to make California pro-life and appoint anti-abortion assemblies.
“I’m 100% pro-life. I will rule as a 100% pro-life governor,” Elder stated.
Climate change experts and scientists have determined that the wildfires in California are being caused by climate change. However, Elder chose to focus on forest management rather than California’s carbon footprint.
“Trees are getting much bigger than they used to be. Dead trees and dry vegetation will not be removed,” Elder said.
Elder has made previous statements that he does not believe in climate change or that it is the cause of the California wildfires.
Elder has no experience in politics, but polls show he’s the front-runner to replace Newsom if the recall is successful. However, polls also show that a majority of Californians do not support Newsom’s removal.
The last day to vote in the California Gubernatorial Recall Election is September 14.
