Ghostface, a roommate of Wu-Tang founder RZA, helped bring the other seven members together. In 1995, Ghostface performed extensively on Raekwon’s debut album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx*, another clan member, appearing on almost every song and earning almost the same bill.[19] “It felt good to have my boy next to me, Ghostface, who’s basically from the same life as me. And we could sit down and put together an EA that we could both respect and basically take all the crew involved..”, said Raekwon of Ghostface’s involvement in the project. Raekwon intended Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.. playing like a movie, with himself as “star”, Ghostface Killah as “guest star” and producer RZA as “director”.[20] He also contributed songs to the soundtracks Sunset Park and Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood; both songs were included on his first solo LP Ironmanin 1996. The album, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, had a more pronounced soul influence (particularly 1970s soul) than previous Wu-Tang releases, and future Ghostface albums would continue to exhibit this stylistic trait. 21][22]

In 2000, Ghostface released his second studio album, Supreme Clientele. The album was well-received by critics, peaking at number 7 on the Billboard 200|Billboard 200.[23] It included “Apollo Ks”, a popular single featuring Raekwon and a sample of Solomon Burke’s “Cool Breeze”. “Cherchez La Ghost”, another single from the album, became a minor club hit.[25]Supreme Clientele marked a turning point in terms of RZA’s influence on Ghostface’s sound, since only six Songs on it were produced by RZA, while on Ironman, its predecessor, every song but one was produced by RZA. Although he contributed fewer beats to the project than Ironman, RZA personally oversaw the mixing and production of the album as a whole, contributing to the unified sound of Supreme Clientele.[26]

Ghostface wasted little time recording his next album, the heavily R&B-influenced Bulletproof Wallets, released a year after Supreme Clientele. The lead single “Never Be the Same Again” featured Raekwon and Carl Thomas. It produced another minor club hit, “Flowers,” which featured guest vocals from fellow Wu-Tang Method Man and Raekwon, and a popular single, “Ghost Showers,” featuring Madame Majestic, whose other major claim to fame is it that she sings on the popular Wu Tang track “Gravel Pit”.[27]

2003 Ghostface signed to Def Jam Records. After temporarily dropping “Killah” from his stage name, Ghostface released The Pretty Toney Albumin April 2004. While the album contained two RZA productions, it did not feature any of the Clans; Instead, it featured collaborations with Missy Elliott, D-Block and Jacki-O. The singles “Tush” and “Run”, which were collaborations with Missy and Jadakiss respectively, achieved moderate club and chart success, and the album was featured on numerous Best of the Year lists; for example, it was Pitchfork Media’s #9 album of the year.[28] Ghostface also appeared on the track “On My Knees” by British R&B group The 411; The song became a hit in the UK and Australia. Ghostface then released an album entitled 718 (after the Staten Island area code) featuring a group of his protégés, the Theodore Unit. Ghostface also appeared on De La Soul’s “He Comes” at The Grind Date. In November 2005, Ghostface and Theodore Unit’s breakout star Trife Da God released a collaborative project, Put It on the Line.

In 2006 Ghostface teamed up with underground artist MF Doom for an unreleased album entitled Swift & Changeable. MF Doom also produced several songs for Ghostface’s 2006 album Fishscale, on which he chose to return to the stage name “Ghostface Killah” rather than just “Ghostface”. The album debuted strongly, peaking at #4 on the US Billboard 200 and #2 on the R&B chart,[29] the rapper’s most promising chart since the Wu-Tang Clan heyday and release his solo debut. The album also received almost unanimously positive reviews. Ghostface embarked on a limited-time tour of US venues in support of the album, performing several of its concerts along with most of the other members of the Wu-Tang Clan. On December 4, 2007, Ghostface released his seventh solo studio album, The Big Doe Rehab.

In a May 2008 interview, Ghostface Killah stated that he would be making an R&B-inspired album in the style of certain tracks he had previously done with artists like Ne-Yo and Jodeci.[30][31] This album became his eighth studio album, Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City, which received good reviews from music critics. It contained singles such as “Baby” and “Do Over”. In March 2009, Ghostface responded to the controversy between Rihanna and Chris Brown by recording a song, “Message from Ghostface,” dedicated to women in abusive relationships.

In an interview with Rolling Stonein May 2009, Raekwon stated that Ghostface Killah was preparing to release a new album. In response to a question about whether the Wu-Tang Clan would release a sequel by 8 Diagrams, Raekwon said, “everyone’s doing different things right now – you’ve got Meth [Method Man ] coming out with an album, Ghostface coming out with an album, some people working on their projects , some people are getting into the movie world, everyone is multitasking right now.“[32] Ghostface appeared on a total of 8 songs on Raekwon’s highly anticipated release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.. Pt. II*100192 *.

Shortly after the release of Only built 4 Cuban Linx.. Pt. IIenlisted Def Jam Raekwon to work with her label artists Method Man and Ghostface Killah on an album later titled Wu-Massacre. Production began in November 2009. Wu-Massacre was released on March 30, 2010 to generally positive reviews from music critics; This time, however, reviews were more mixed, with some critics objecting to the rushed feel of the 30-minute album. With heavy advertising, 37,900 units were sold in the first week. As of May 12, 2010, 64,000 units had been sold. It features production from Scram Jones, Mathematics and The RZA, who produced the album’s lead single, “Our Dreams”.

In 2010, Ghostface confirmed that he would be releasing two new studio albums, Apollo Ks and one that would serve as a follow-up to his 2000 album Supreme Clientele. [33] In 2011 Ghostface Killah was featured on British artist Josh Osho’s debut single “Redemption Days”.

It dropped to No. 152 in its second week and sold another 4,200 copies. In January 2017, Ghostface and Sheek Louch announced on their respective social media accounts that a second collaborative album was in the works.[37]

In an interview with Complex Magazine on November 17, 2012, Ghostface confirmed that he had left Def Jam and made Apollo Ks his final album on the label. In the same interview, he also stated that Blue & Cream, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed album Supreme Clientele, was 80-85 percent complete. On April 16, 2013 Ghostface released their tenth album Twelve Reasons to Dieproduced by Adrian Younge and executive produced by RZA. The album was released in various formats such as CD, vinyl and cassette under RZA’s Soul Temple Records. The deluxe digital and CD versions also included a comic book.[38]

He later announced that the sequel to Supreme Clientele would be released between July and September 2013[41] and that his collaborative album with MF Doom would be released around Halloween 2013[42] [43] although none of the projects materialized. In January 2014, he appeared on the VH1 series Couples Therapy with his girlfriend Kelsey Nykole.[44] Later that year, Ghostface announced that it would be releasing its eleventh album, titled 36 Seasons in December 2014. Ghostface Killah Couples Therapy

* 100098*

Ghostface Killah was exactly what he deserved in couples therapy last night and learned some valuable lessons! Ghostface was the culmination of the couples therapy episode whose double timing backfired when he lost both girlfriends, Kelsey and Latrice, in the same therapy episode.

In the greatest love triangle in couples therapy, two parts out of three walked away leaving Killah in a directionless straight line. Ghostface Killah invited Latrice to his couples therapy session with his girlfriend Kelsey.

Ghostface said right in front of Kelsey that he enjoys making love to the other woman and loves Latrice. It was totally inappropriate and made Kelsey so angry that she decided it was time to end her relationship with Killah.

It’s time! dr Jenn had obviously hoped for that outcome and told Kelsey from the therapy session that she deserved more than crumbs of love. She deserves the whole pie.

I agree and the other Couples Therapy cast members, mainly Taylor, were relieved that Kelsey had finally come to her senses about Ghostface. Not sure where this is going for the rest of VH1 couples therapy, but Kelsey definitely needs professional help to never get run over by a ghost face again.

After the couple ended their year-long relationship, tried Ghost Face to save his relationship with the only woman left, Latrice. Ghostface and Latrice had been together for an amazing 2 years and she had no idea Kelsey was emotionally and physically connected to Killah “Pack up and go.” I was so impressed that VH1 Couples Therapy didn’t edit this in a dramatic way. Ghostface screwed it up and Latrice said, “I can’t trust him, so without no trust there really isn’t any us.” I enjoyed couples therapy that much more because it was honest and real without being explosive. The couples had a compatibility test, and to no one’s surprise, Kelsey and Ghostface weren’t compatible. Even less shockingly, Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend Liz were also ruled incompatible.

Jon Gosselin didn’t believe the compatibility test results, but the other cast and viewers weren’t surprised. Liz was nothing but emasculating and disrespectful of Jon. The only thing they were compatible with what they drink and smoke!
