How To Change Your Username / Computer Name In Windows 10 Bangla Windows Tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to change the computer name of your Windows 10 computer.

This tutorial should work for all major computer hardware manufactures that include Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 in their products (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung, and so forth).

There are plenty of reasons to change your computer’s name especially if you bought it directly from a manufacturer and it’s named something generic like “windowsuserpc” or “TUF000445811EE”. If you want to connect computers through a homegroup, or just be able to recognize which computers are on your network, changing your computer’s name to something more descriptive is definitely helpful.

Or maybe you just want to name your computer something cool add a personal touch. I name all my computers after figures from Greek mythology. I also name my cars.

Before Windows 10, changing your computer’s name was complicated. Well, not so much complicated as hidden inside the Control Panel in the System Properties windows. While you can still change your computer’s name in System Properties (we’ll show you how), Windows 10 has made it much simpler by putting it in the new Settings menu.

Here’s the easy way to change your computer’s name:

1. Open Settings and go to System About.

2. In the About menu, you should see the name of your computer next to PC name and a button that says Rename PC. Click this button.

3. Type the new name for your computer. You can use letters, numbers and hyphens no spaces. Then click Next.

4. A window will pop up asking if you want to restart your computer now or later. If you want to change to the new name immediately, click Restart now to restart your computer. If you don’t want to restart your computer right this second, click Restart later. Your computer’s name will be updated the next time you restart it.

Setting a Static IP Address in Windows 8:

Open CMD (command prompt) and type “ipconfig /all”

The windows command is used for displaying all current network configuration information, you need IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS server.

1) Right click on computer icon and “open network and sharing center” ,
2) Click on “Change adapter settings” ,
3) Doubleclick on your local adapter, and click properties,
4) Find and open “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”
5) Select Use the following IP address and enter your new IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway that corresponds with your network setup
6) Also type DNS server IP address

Changing Your Computer Name

In Windows, your computer name indicates the name that is displayed on the network for your computer. Any other computer sharing a network with you will see your computer by this name. If at any point you need to change your computer name, open the 
Start Menu. In the Search field, type in “rename” and press Enter. The closest results will show at the top of the Start Menu.

Typing in a task like “rename” is now readable to your computer as the task of renaming whereas in prior versions of Windows, the Search Function would only find instances of text within files. This readability can reduce the amount of steps it takes to do a task like changing your computer name.Select the Change button and type in a new name without using any special characters such as the comma or parenthesis. Once you’ve typed a name, hit OK. In order for your changes to take effect, you will have to restart your computer. You can click Restart Now unless you have something you need to save, in which case you would click Restart Later.

Keyboard Shortcut

After you’ve restarted your computer, if you’d like to confirm that your changes have been saved, press the keyboard shortcut Windows+Break. This action will open your System Properties where your computer name will be displayed.

On a Windows computer, the system locale determines what language the text in programs that do not support Unicode is displayed in. The language that nonUnicode applications display text in is determined solely by what the system locale on your computer it set to. Not only does system locale determine the default character set (letters, numbers and symbols) nonUnicode applications use but also determines what font nonUnicode applications display text in, as well as a number of other things.

The system locale setting is primarily aimed at Windows users who speak more than one language and would like nonUnicode programs on their computers to display a certain language of their choosing. It should be noted that the system locale only controls the language of nonUnicode programs – everything on a Windows computer that uses Unicode (from Windows menus to dialog boxes and everything in between), on the other hand, is not affected by a change in system locale in any way. Not having your system locale correctly configured can cause problems when using nonUnicode applications such as Java, which is why setting your system locale and configuring it correctly is highly important.

Changing the system locale on a Windows computer is a pretty simple and straightforward process, although it varies slightly depending on what version of the Windows Operating System your computer is running on. Before you can actually change your computer’s system locale, however, you need to make sure that you are logged into an account on your computer that has administrative privileges and that you have the appropriate language packs for the language you want to set as your computer’s system locale.
